This is a simple but an amazing story of the journey of a woman and her family into the world of Native America, living amongst the Hopi. It tells of her joys, struggles, griefs and fears. It tells of many spiritual trials which she has come to terms with. It is a story which tells of the unsurpassing love of the Great One, who came to bring hope and dignity to the Native peoples of North America and beyond. This is a story about CALLING forth the original peoples of the land to rise up and be the Creator's royal priesthood. All of her personal stories are to draw you into the cry of her heart, that we may all see the fulfillment of the Creator's heart for the Native Americans. Her life in Hopi became an Odyssey of knowing that the Great and mighty One is faithful and good; He has been her constant companion and comfort. He has been her great and exceeding joy! A Memoir of a Modern Day Missionary Amongst the Hopi & the Native Americans by Millie Camille Eehn-Toms

The Great Eagle Calling Millie Camille Eehn - Toms 9780974127484 Books Reviews

I don't know if I've ever expressed how much I enjoyed your book. You are so precious, a much valued treasure of the Most High God. His Nature is reflected in your writings and I love it.
My husband read your book and loved it. He calls it "A real page turner!"
I have listened to your introduction on CD and found it wonderful to hear your voice. This book is a marvelous, candid view into a missionary's life and a woman's heart. Great job!
Thank you Millie,
It's like sitting down & having a cup of tea & a nice little visit.
You give us the honor to enter the homes & pull up a chair &
hear the hearts of our Hopi brothers & sisters -wonderful!
Yes the book is great & will prompt prayer for the people.
Blessings from the Cree Nation.
There's real vision here. Ms. Toms' material is RICH. She and husband have definitely plowed new ground with Native American mission. The story of how they and their three kids moved in and identified with the Hopi community is real, basic "incarnational" mission--a Seed planted, and dying, to bear fruit.
Thank you for this book. I've been enjoying reliving your stories and wondering at the creativity of our great and generous God. Just finished the chapter where Naphtali is graduating and proclaiming His indescribable attribute of peace. I'm treasuring this book and will return to it often in reflection as I pray. May our tribal brothers and sisters hear His call, respond and rise up, for they alone can do what He has purposed them to do.
I don't know if I've ever expressed how much I enjoyed your book. You are so precious, a much valued treasure of the Most High God. His Nature is reflected in your writings and I love it. And I love to share this book with my friends and then have to wrangle it back from them.

I believe this book will be a powerful instrument to draw people to know about the indigenous peoples of America (and the world), and the hope available for peoples of all nations through Christ. As I listened to the audio CD of the book and read it, I was moved by what the author had to experience and how God worked in her and her family's life. It is a simple, but profound telling of one missionary's experience in the heart of the Hopi Nation and the love of God for its people.

I'm on my third reading of your inspiring book, "The Great Eagle Calling". God willing, I'll be 91 years old November 4, 2012. Even so it isn't that I can't comprehend; but I'm so drawn to everything you've written in your book. I am deeply touched and impacted. I must confess my thinking about the Native Americans has been so limited. I had no idea! To me, it has been like finding a lost, virtually unknown tribe, nation of people. And they have been here for hundreds of years.
I believe this is the time God has planned for them to come out and be made known - to take their rightful place among the nations. The world needs to see; be made aware of their beautiful, unique way of worshipping God. I pray God will send His Holy Spirit to do a new work in the knowledge and understanding of Native American sisters and brothers, that faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is not just the white man's religion, but God's plan for all people from every nation and tribe on earth.
Thank you Millie for living, and sharing with us, this story. VIRGINIA SETTERS
